SURVIVOR STORIES

When diagnosed with cancer, a common reaction is to feel alone, powerless, and helpless. In order to remind women everywhere of the importance of early detection, we have begun gathering the inspiring words of survivors and their family members.

Alexandra - Took charge of her own health. Six years later, her cancer is in remission.

Shirley - Both she and her mother are cancer survivors. She had virtually no symptoms, but paid attention to small warning signs

Maureen - in the five and a half years since diagnosis, she has become a tireless advocate for women's awareness of this combatible disease.

Jody - her mother was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. She has a long, uphill battle ahead of her - if any readers out there have stories they would share about surviving stage 3 or 4 cancer, it would be a great help to them!

Tom - his mother died of uterine cancer at age 67; "...if she had gotten to a doctor sooner, who knows what the outcome might have been?"

If you are a survivor, or know someone who is a survivor of uterine/endometrial cancer, and you would be willing to share your story on this site, please contact Janet at: janet@fundforlife.org. We will always respect your privacy and will only list your story by your first name.
